Year 2000 Compliance
Year 2000 compliance is defined as follows:
No value for current date will cause interruptions in desired operations. Products will operate, and
neither performance nor functionality will be affected with system dates before, during or after January 1, 2000.
- Date elements in interfaces and data storage will permit specifying century to eliminate date
ambiguity.
- Database references (records) will sort by dates in ascending or descending order based on correctly
entered dates.
- Products will not require any manual activity or intervention by users to operate after January
1, 2000.
- Products will not abnormally end or provide invalid or incorrect results as a result of date
data, especially between centuries.
All manipulations of time-related data (dates, duration, days of week, etc.) will produce the desired
results for all valid date values within the applications.
ISI ResearchSoft Year 2000 Test Criteria
Year 2000 compliance was determined and confirmed by operating these applications or computers with
system dates on or after January 1, 2000, and by performing sorting and retrieval operations with references with
the years 19xx and 2xxx and formatting bibliographies.
Bibliographic Import Filters
ISI ResearchSoft has identified several Capture definition
(import) files for Reference Manager versions 8.x, 7 and (Macintosh)
2.5 that key only on 19xx for date identification. ISI ResearchSoft
is in the process of modifying these import files to recognize both
19xx and 2xxx for versions 8.x and 7. These files are available to customers
at no charge from the ISI ResearchSoft Web site (Support
& Services). Users of Reference Manager 2.5 for the Macintosh
are encouraged to upgrade to ProCite for the Macintosh v4 if they wish
to maintain import filters capable of interpreting references with mixed
date formats.
Year 2000 Disclaimer
Proper functioning of all ISI ResearchSoft products will be dependent upon the customer's utilization
of Year 2000 compatible hardware and software. It is important that our customers analyze their own environments
to ensure the ability to adapt to the century change.
Please note that the information in this letter is provided as a courtesy to our customers and should
