Reference Web Poster Demonstration coming up...

You are about to enter a live Reference Web Poster site with a sample of databases created in Reference Manager, ProCite and EndNote. The databases include references on the topic of marine mammals with an emphasis on whales.

Two types of searching are available: Quick Search and Advanced Search. Try a Quick Search on the name "Smith" or set up an Advanced Search on "Titles = whale AND Year = 1997" to locate references with highlighted retrieval terms in the display. The Help button provides further information on how to use each search method.

The Database Description button utilizes the property sheet information from the posted database. A "Topic information unavailable" indicates the property sheet does not exist for a particular database.

Once you have a reference list displayed on the screen, click on the Full Record View icon to the left of each reference and use the check box to make selections for exporting or downloading the references to your local reference manager.

Notice the Back button that shows up on most screens. Using this button retains your marks throughout a session whereas the regular Web browser Back button forgets your marks.

When you arrive at the Export Marked References page, select the direct export option if you are using Reference Manager v8/v7 or ProCite v4/v3. Of course, you may need to first download the RIS Auto Export Plug-In. There are also selections for downloading references into a text file using either the MEDLARS or RIS formats.
