Install 18: I'm getting a Member Not Found error, how can I fix this?
 
Answer: This shows up in some cases if you have launched Reference Manager for the first time after installing and you have not yet rebooted. It indicates the registry has not been updated and rebooting will fix the problem.

If this doesn't resolve the problem, try the following:

Please note: Following these steps involves modifying the registry and will remove any customizations you have made to the Reference Manager program. When modifying the registry you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. If you are not comfortable modifying the registry, please contact technical support.

  1. Quit all applications.


  2. Go to Start in the lower left hand side of you monitor and then select Run and enter regedit. Then click OK.


  3. Select the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder and expand it, then the Software folder, then the ISI ResearchSoft folder.


  4. Click on the Reference Manager folder. (Do the following for each version of Reference Manager you see here. Ignore the User Info folder, if you see it.)


  5. Select Registry (or File) in the menu and then select the Export option.


  6. Under Export Range choose the Selected Branch option and then save the file as RefManReg.


  7. Right click on the Reference Manager folder and select Delete.


  8. Close the Regedit application.


  9. Restart the computer.


  10. Open Reference Manager and try again.
