After you have processed your search in OCLC you can press the Export button to export a text file
that can be imported into ProCite.

Once you press the export button, the screen to the right will appear. Select the appropriate records
you would like to export next to "Export:". Now select "Text File" next
to "Export To:". After making these selections, click the "Export" button
at the bottom.

After you have processed your search in OCLC you can press the Export button to export

Once you press the export button a File Download box will appear. Make sure you save
your file in a location where you can easily find it and save it with a .txt extension then press ok.

Once the file is downloaded you can open Procite and import the file. 1. First,
open Procite and then select the database you wish to import your data file into. 2. Now from the
menu, select Tools\Import Text File.

3. An Open Import File window will open up:

4. Once you have selected the text file and it opens up you need to select the correct
file format. This is the import filter file that is saved in the ProCite\Config folder on your hard drive.
Press the down arrow to open up the filter list: 5. Once you are sure you have selected the correct
file format check the database name field to make sure you have selected the correct database and press
"transfer".

The import will then let you know that it has completed successfully, and how many records
were transferred. Press okay to close this window.
6. Select File/Close to close the import window and return to the database window to
view your new records, the newly imported records will appear as marked records in your database.
