| Question 43: Word X crashes when I click the "Browse" button to select an output style in the "Format Bibliography" dialog box with EndNote 7. How can I resolve this problem? |
Answer: This problem appears to be caused by a corrupt output style file (and possibly the Styles folder) and can be fixed by doing the following:
- Quit EndNote 7 and create a new folder for your styles in the EndNote 7 folder (example: Styles 2).
- Open the current EndNote Styles folder and copy (not move) the style files from the Styles folder into the Styles 2 folder.
- Restart EndNote and go to the Folder Locations option in the EN7 preferences.
- For the Styles folder option, select the Select Folder option and then select the Styles 2 folder (and then the save button).
- Close out of EndNote, and then open the EndNote program again.
The Browse button should now work when in the "Format Bibliography" dialog box within Word.
