Please note that the patch file on this page is only for use with HLM 6.00 or 6.01 for Windows. It cannot be applied to the rental or student editions, or used on any other platform.
This patch should be applied to any full edition of HLM 6.00 or 6.01 regardless of purchase date.
Note also that the on-line help file of version 6.00 can only be updated by replacing it with the on-line help file for version 6.01 (no update needed for 6.02). Download the file whlm.chm below into your HLM 6 program folder.
Changes made in the HLM 6.01 service release (April 2005) are listed below.
- All modules will be able to read up to SPSS 13 *.sav files.
- Various bug fixes, most graph related.
- Entry added to File menu so that users can save mixed models as well as hierarchical models.
- Addition of reliability and variance tables when weighting is specified (HLM2 and HLM3 modules).
- EM Laplace used for dichotomous outcome instead of Fisher scoring (HGLM models only; HLM2 and HLM3 modules).
Changes made in the HLM 6.02 service release (June 2005) are listed below.
- During the creation of residual files in the presence of missing data, some level-2 units were incorrectly deleted.
- Use of listwise deletion at runtime could cause a "T's don't match" error message during graphing.
Instructions
- Download the RTP patch file "HLM6_602.exe" to the folder in which HLM 6.00 or 6.01 for Windows is installed, for example "C:\Program Files\HLM6".
- Ensure that the downloaded file is approximately 9584Kb in size. If not, please download it again.
- Use the "Run" option on the Windows "Start" menu to run "HLM6_602.exe" from the folder it was saved in. If the upgrade to HLM 6.02 for Windows is successful, delete "HLM6_602.exe" from its folder.
Warning
Due to the size of the RTP patch file, the download time with a dial-up Internet connection could be more than 1 hour.
