"Moving sand"
This image was created by Erwin Oosterhoff, a
geophysical consultant with MEDUSA.
"This animated GIF presents five geophysical surveys, where MEDUSA radiometry was combined with 'multibeam' soundings. The blue to yellow to red colors describe the grainsize. The green colours
indicate the presence of appr. 10.000 cubic metres 'tracer' sediment, which has been dumped in order to map the sediment movements as result from tidal currents. This information, acquired by the MEDUSA system, was draped over the morphology data. For this I used Surfer 8. Please visit our website at www.medusa-online.com."

This picture has been made for the National Institute for Coastal and Marine Management of the Ministry of Public Transport and Water Management. (Bathymetric data courtesy of RIKZ/RWS)
