Information for EViews 2.0 for Windows (16-bit)

Downloading the latest version of EViews 2.0 (16-bit) will ensure that you have the currently shipping version of EViews that incorporates all of the latest improvements and bug fixes for the present release.

Before you make the final decision to download, you should bear in mind that the downloadable executable will only work if you have already installed EViews 2.0 (the corresponding stand-alone or network version) on your system.

You will need to process a .ZIP file to extract the necessary files. If you do not already have the software to unzip archives, see our ZIP tools download area for links to SHAREWARE versions of the popular PKZIP and WINZIP programs.

To install, the update, simply copy the file EVIEWS.EXE into the directory containing your current copy of EViews 2.0. This will overwrite the file and provide you with the new version. If you wish, you can create a new directory to hold the new EVIEWS.EXE. This will allow you to keep the previous version of 2.0 until you have verified the behavior of the new version. If you wish to keep multiple copies of version 2.0, you may also wish to copy your EVIEWS.INI, X11, and (if appropriate) TSPBSE.DIR files from the original directory into the new directory.

Update Notes:

(NOTE: ev216s refers to the 16-bit stand-alone version of EViews 2.0;
ev216n is the 16-bit network version of EViews 2.0).
